Tom Shoup to Lead Human Resources in Expanded Role as Corporate Facility Security Officer

Peabody, MA., July 25, 2025 — Sumaria Systems is pleased to announce the promotion of Tom Shoup to lead the company’s Human Resources operations in addition to his current role as Corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO). In this expanded capacity, Tom will align HR strategy with the company’s operational priorities, applying his deep experience in national security, engineering, and executive leadership to foster a high-performance, mission-focused culture.

“Tom brings a unique and powerful perspective to both security and HR,” said Dave Dzaran, Chief Executive Officer of Sumaria Systems. “His understanding of operational imperatives, combined with his strategic insight and people-first leadership style, makes him the right person to lead these critical functions. Tom’s ability to translate mission needs into effective human capital and security strategies is invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Tom joined Sumaria in July 2022 as Corporate Facility Security Officer, where he led compliance with the National Industrial Security Program and oversaw the company’s ISO and CMMC certifications. Now, as the head of both Security and Human Resources, Tom will continue to ensure regulatory excellence while driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement, development, and organizational performance.

Throughout his career, Tom has held senior leadership roles across U.S. government service and the private sector, including COO and President roles at CADCAM Inc. and Qualia Computing/CADx Medical Systems. At Qbase LLC, he served as Senior Vice President and FSO, where he managed Security and Corporate HR and led the company’s Ohio operations until its acquisition in 2022.

Earlier in his career, Tom played a pivotal role as the Base Civil Engineer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where he oversaw facility and security preparations for the Dayton Peace Accord negotiations that helped bring an end to the Bosnian War. His track record also includes advancing FDA-approved technologies in cancer detection and leading multi-site expansions of high-growth companies.

Tom holds a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and completed the Senior Officials in National Security program at Harvard University. His leadership is distinguished not by certifications alone, but by his consistent ability to bring operational clarity and mission alignment to the functions he leads.

Tom’s promotion reflects Sumaria’s continued focus on strengthening its internal infrastructure in support of mission delivery, security excellence, and workforce development.
